Refunds & changes — who to ask, and when.
Parpia Travel does not process refunds, changes, or cancellations. We chart fares; partners and carriers handle every post-booking action.
Where to start
For partner-booked itineraries the comparison-search partner's support page is the first stop. For operator-direct bookings, the operator's "Manage trip" tool is the only authoritative path. Partner-OTA names are listed on our disclosures page.
U.S. DOT 24-hour rule
U.S.-ticketed itineraries booked at least seven days before departure are refundable in full within 24 hours of purchase, by federal rule (DOT 14 CFR 259.5). This applies whether you booked direct or through a comparison-search partner.
Schedule changes
Most U.S. operators will rebook or refund without fee when they significantly change a schedule. Contact the operator directly — comparison-search partners rarely move faster than the operator on this.
Pattern-by-category overview
Refund and change rules vary widely by operator category. Single-cabin point-to-point operators allow free changes on every fare with travel-credit retention. Network operators dropped change fees on most domestic main-cabin tickets in 2020. Basic-economy bundles are universally non-changeable and non-refundable beyond the 24-hour federal rule. Ultra-low-cost carriers retain modification charges of $69-$99 per change. The authoritative source for the rules attached to your specific fare is the operator's published rules.
Travel insurance
The almanac does not sell insurance and takes no commission. If you buy a policy, buy it directly from the underwriter and read the cancellation triggers carefully.
